30-Day Comment Period Opens on Kenmore East Baseball Field Renaming Proposal
A community proposal has been recommended by the Ken-Ton School District Naming Committee and will now be subject to a 30-day public comment period.
The proposal is to rename the Kenmore East High School Baseball Field in honor of former coach Robert A. Marafino.
This proposal was submitted through the district’s naming procedure, which requires a formal application and a specified number of signatures prior to being considered by the Naming Committee. This proposal was recommended by the Naming Committee and will now be subject to a 30-day public comment period prior to being considered by the Board of Education. It will also require a public vote during the annual Budget Vote & Board of Education Election if approved by the Board.

Comments may be submitted in writing to Ken-Ton School District, Attn: Naming Committee, 1500 Colvin Blvd., Buffalo, NY 14223 or electronically to comments@ktufsd.org. The deadline to submit comments is Friday, December 19, 2025.
The Ken-Ton School District has a procedure for naming or renaming a building, facility, room, bench, garden, tree, plaque, or event on school and district property. The specific requirements and procedures are detailed on the application form. A completed form with the required attachments may be submitted to the District Clerk, 1500 Colvin Blvd., Buffalo, NY 14223. Applications will be accepted between July 1st and October 15th for presentation to the district Naming Committee in November or December.
