Grade Point Average

In the computation of high school grade point average, grades are weighted to reflect the difficulty of the course work. To determine the weighted final grade, class averages are multiplied by the following weighting factors:

Course:                Regents                             Honors                               AP

Weight:                  1.00                                   1.05                                     1.10

Course credit is awarded when a student earns a final grade of 65% or higher. The final grade is determined by a formula using 80% of the class average and 20% of the final exam grade.
